Natural vs Synthetic

Once upon a time (yes it really was, like, back in the day), our ancestors found comfort in the natural world. The trees, the woods, the stones — they were all things people used to discover homes and food sources and treat their own illnesses, from small scrapes to life-threatening infections. And astoundingly enough, this practice of using nature as medicine existed long before modern pharma companies had the chance to regale us with their fancy synthetic concoctions that are supposedly just as good as Mother Nature's herbal 'cures'.

The pharmaceutical companies are not interested in cures or preventing the symptoms of an ailment, they are interested in profits. It's no secret that there are many side effects associated with pharmaceuticals that can be life threatening. The commercials on TV always tell you about all of the possible side effects but not how much it will cost or even if it will work for your ailment. And while they're not lying when they say that their products work, they don't tell you how natural remedies can do the same thing AND have fewer side effects! That is because no one can patent Mother Nature. The big bucks are not to be made going natural. However, synthetic, now that is where the money is made!

Natural remedies are made from ingredients found right in nature—they aren't synthetic or man-made like most pharmaceutical drugs. This means that there are fewer chemicals and additives in the product, so it has fewer side effects than many big pharma drugs. And because natural remedies aren't advertised as often as pharmaceuticals, many people aren't even aware of them!

So what's the catch? Well, not all of them work. Some can be dangerous if you don't follow instructions correctly. And some won't even work at all if your body doesn't react well to certain ingredients. But for those that do work, they can be a great way to treat your symptoms without having to take harsh medications—and without spending tons of money on health insurance or medical bills!

Here are some examples of great herbs and spices that you may already use:

- Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory agent found in curry powder that has been shown to help with arthritis pain and even reduce swelling in people with arthritis or joint damage from injury or surgery;

- Ginger root is a digestive aid that can help with nausea and bloating;

- Chamomile contains antioxidants and is great for relaxing and calming your mind.

You can incorporate natural remedies into your life in a few easy steps.

Get to know your local herbs and plants! Learn their names, what they look like, and how they grow.
Start paying attention to what's going on in your body—what's normal for you, what's not normal for you (and when). If something feels off, start making note of it so that when it comes time to talk about it with your doctor or other healthcare professional, you'll be able to give them more information than just "I'm having problems."

If you're looking for a new way to treat your ailments or keep healthy, try incorporating natural remedies into your daily routine. You'll feel better than ever before!

Treating Food as Medicine for Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can be debilitating and affect every aspect of your life.  Imagine being able to do the things you love without constant discomfort. Picture a life where you can focus on the things that matter the most to you. With the right approach and guidance, it's possible to reduce the impact of chronic pain on your daily life.  I have mentioned in my other posts, my doctors wanted me to take an insane amount of ibuprofen and acetaminophen on a daily basis. My main concern was that my liver and kidneys would be damaged and guess what? I would be in even more pain because lets get real, ibuprofen and acetaminophen do not take away chronic pain. I was also given gabapentin, which is a prescription drug used as an anticonvulsant. However, they are distributing this drug like tic-tacs for...

Holistic Pain Management

Pain management is a holistic approach that focuses on treating the root causes of pain and educating patients on how to manage their conditions in order to achieve long-term relief. Herbs Herbs are a popular treatment for pain because they're easy to use and have few side effects. They can be taken as teas or tinctures, and they're often used in salves and ointments as well. Herbs work by decreasing inflammation and increasing blood flow to the area where you're experiencing pain, which helps the body heal itself naturally from injuries or illness. You can use herbs both acutely--when you have an injury or inflammation that needs immediate attention--and chronically--for long-term conditions like arthritis or fibromyalgia that require ongoing treatment over time. Herbs are also beneficial for both physical and emotional pain: some herbs reduce physical symptoms such as muscle spasms while others address psychological issues such as anxiety or depression by calming your min...
